Opus Newton was designed to meet high standards of sustainable building practices. Goals of our programs include reducing energy consumption, minimizing our impact on the environment and climate, and creating healthy indoor environments. With these goals in mind, Opus Newton meets LEED Gold requirements and Passive House standards in the residential building. In addition, we invite residents to join us in being good stewards of our natural resources and actively participate in our community’s sustainability efforts.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the world’s most widely recognized rating system for sustainable design and a stamp of assurance that a building meets the highest standards for sustainability and leadership. Opus Newton meets LEED Gold requirements for reduced carbon, energy, water, and waste while elevating indoor environment quality.
Opus Newton's residential building is also designed to meet the Passive House Standard. This means reduced energy is required to heat and cool the building, and renewable energy sources are used where possible. For example, green roofs and solar panels are incorporated into the design. We're also focused on creating a healthy indoor environment. Opus Newton was built with sustainable and non-emitting materials that protect the health of residents and the environment. Every system was selected and every decision about materials was made with this important goal in mind.
