Healthy buildings, healthy people, healthy world.
Opus Newton is designed to meet high standards of sustainable building practices. Goals of our programs include reducing energy consumption, minimizing our impact on the environment and climate, and creating healthy indoor environments. With these goals in mind, Opus Newton will meet LEED Gold requirements and will meet Passive House standards in the residential building. In addition, we will invite residents to be stewards of our natural resources and become active partners in our community’s sustainability efforts.
“We believe in making the world a better place, and our sustainability initiatives are helping achieve this, one community at a time.”
—Zoe Weinrobe, 2Life Chief of Real Estate

Building for a greener, healthier future.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the world’s most widely recognized rating system for sustainable design and a stamp of assurance that a building meets the highest standards for sustainability and leadership. Opus Newton will meet LEED Gold requirements for reduced carbon, energy, water, and waste while elevating indoor environment quality.
The residential building is also designed to meet the Passive House Standard. This means reduced energy is required to heat and cool the building, and renewable energy sources are used where possible. For example, green roofs and solar panels are incorporated into Opus Newton’s design. In addition, we’re focused on creating a healthy indoor environment. The building is being built with sustainable and non-emitting materials that protect the health of residents and the environment. Every system is selected and every decision about materials is made with this important goal in mind.
